I'm transgender and live in the US, but my mother and many of my close family members are from Poland, and I have a ton of family in Poland. Luckily the ones who live here don't have any negative opinions of LGBT people (for the most part). This year I started transitioning, and one of my biggest fears when I fully come out is causing a divide between those who support me and those who don't / those who are currently living in Poland. I fully anticipate it will be a complete mess. I'm also sad because I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to go to Poland because of this. It's strange having such a rich heritage and culture that I feel like I'm being forced to abandon.

Poland cannot discriminate against LGBT and is furthermore obligated to protect it's citizens from such discrimination happening within Polands jurisdiction. I got blocked from participating in r/politics supposedly because I was inciting violence. I contacted the moderator and walked him through the comment in question, explaining where he was misinterpreting the intended context. Instead of considering it, he doubled down on his own interpretation (he fancies himself a mind reader, I guess). Some weeks later, still banned from posting, I noticed another individual make a comment similar to mine. This was followed by several other comments, indicating he wasn't banned.
