When I talk to guys about depression or anxiety they seem not to want to fill the silence after I speak. This response helps me to centre myself and feel really listened to, not just momentarily heard – I interpret it as a conscious silence. Maybe it suits me better personally because that’s how I tend to respond to others, or maybe there’s a social difference between genders. I don’t know, but I feel I would benefit from talking to some of the women in my life about this.

I got blocked from participating in r/politics supposedly because I was inciting violence. I contacted the moderator and walked him through the comment in question, explaining where he was misinterpreting the intended context. Instead of considering it, he doubled down on his own interpretation (he fancies himself a mind reader, I guess). Some weeks later, still banned from posting, I noticed another individual make a comment similar to mine. This was followed by several other comments, indicating he wasn't banned.
