I've been cautious about putting too much expectation on AOC. In part, probably, because she's young; but, also, because D.C. is a really transformative place and entrenched power is real there. Even if I put all that aside, she's not had a position of power in the party or a major accomplishment yet as a Congressperson (which, I don't think is a black mark at all--it's just the pace of these things).

Seriously, a lot of Democrats are also in the pockets of major corporations. AOC is really good at communicating why money has come to dominate politics and why it is bad. But, a lot of Democrats like money being in politics because they like getting money. They are afraid of AOC because if she gets too popular it could mean the end of a very enriching system for politicians.Which is exactly what the US needs.
